  1. Oh this is right up my alley, love this!

  2. Bitter, sweet & salty – you have covered it all beautifully. Plus there’s bacon…nothing more needs to be said.

  3. Delicious, love the flavours!

  4. @Feast on the Cheap, So glad you like it!
    @Cookin’ Cannuck, Butter, sweet, salt and fat–you’re right, we’re pretty much covered.
    @Maria, Thank you!

  5. You’ve hit on a perfect balance of flavors in this appealingly simple salad. I love the bitter/sweet/smoky/tangy combination you’ve used here.

  6. I’ve never made this dish before, I want to give it a try!

  7. Wow, I do love this. I can imagine how the smokiness of the bacon and the sweetness of the pears would complement the endive.

  8. I do indeed wonder about things like these. Often. This salad looks great and inspires me to eat more endive.

  9. @Barbara-A salad with fruit and bacon disappears much quicker than my usual just greens and vinaigrette!
    @Clarkie, I hope you do! Let me know how it turns out.
    @Fooddreamer, Thanks! Yeah, it’s a fantastic flavor combination.
    @Kimberley, Glad Brian and I aren’t alone in wondering about the evolution of food–so fascinating!
